Secrets of Sundarbans

Kolkata–Sundarbans Round Trip

Sail deep into the Sundarbans — the world's largest mangrove delta, inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. Home to the elusive Royal Bengal Tiger, estuarine crocodiles, and hundreds of bird species.

The Sundarbans are formed by the rivers Ganges, Hooghly, Brahmaputra, and Meghna. The flora is characterised by the abundance of Sundari (Heritiera fomes) trees that give the forest its name. For bird lovers, it offers an extraordinary variety — Herons, Egrets, Cormorants, Storks, Seagulls, and migratory Geese and Ducks arriving from higher latitudes in winter.
